Our job at Plymouth Scuba is to keep your boat looking and running
great. In the event of an emergency we are on call 24 hours a day to
service whatever need you may experience.
Hull cleaning
Build up
of barnacles and seaweed not only looks bad but it causes a dramatic
reduction in the fuel economy of your vessel. Within only a few short
hours, a certified and experienced diver of Plymouth Scuba can
effectively remove the growth from the hull of your vessel without
causing damage. The money you save in fuel will pay for the cleaning in
no time at all.
Propeller removal and installation
The more time
you spend on the sea, the greater the chance that your propeller will
become nicked or dinged from some unseen obstruction under the water.
Rather than paying to have the vessel hauled out and serviced at the
marine, a certified and experienced diver from Plymouth Scuba can do it
right on your mooring. More often than naught, the cost of the removal
and installation is cheaper than the cost to haul the vessel out of the
water. That means you save a boat load of money while still being able
to enjoy some time on your vessel as the diver performs the work.
Zinc replacement
Water
has an electrical conductivity that is corrosive to metals placed under
the water. The electrical current will attack weaker metals causing
corrosion over a period of time. Zincs are secured on the hull of the
vessel to prevent the corrosion of other metal parts found on the
vessel such as the propeller. Since Zinc is less noble metal it will
experience corrosion before the propeller or the shaft. If Zincs are
not properly maintained then the propeller and shaft can be damaged
leading to a very costly replacement. Most Zincs can be replaced in
only a few short minutes by a certified and experienced diver from
Plymouth Scuba.
Inspections
Every now and then it’s a good idea
to have an inspection done of the hull of your vessel. For only the
cost of the suit up, one of divers of Plymouth Scuba can do a thorough
inspection of the vessel checking to make sure the propeller is in good
shape, the zincs aren’t corroded away, no rope or line is wrapped
around the shaft, or whatever other need for inspection you might
experience.
Search and Recovery
We’ve all done it. Dropping
something important off of the side of the vessel can be an absolute
nuisance. Even worse, having the shaft of the vessel break off with a
propeller on it that costs thousands to replace. Rather than just
accepting your loss, give one of the experienced divers at Plymouth
Scuba the opportunity to search for and recover that lost item. We have
recovered everything from a hand held radio, to a propeller, to a full
size Ford F350 dually!!
